Definition
Programs that provide legal assistance that helps individuals who have been convicted of a felony regain the civil rights they lost as a consequence of the conviction following completion of all the terms and conditions of their sentence. The rights felons lose, which may include the right to vote, to hold public office, to serve on a jury, and to hold certain types of state occupational licenses, and the process by which they may be recovered are primarily governed by state law and vary by jurisdiction.
