Definition
Retail distribution centers owned and operated by the federal, state and/or local government that sell salvage and surplus government property to the public, generally at or below cost or fair market value. Included may be a wide range of items including vehicles, shop equipment, office furniture, computers, hospital equipment, generators, supplies and recyclables. Some items are offered to public agencies, nonprofit organizations, small businesses and others that qualify before being made available to the community at large.
