Federal, state and local government programs that offer a tax credit or other source of funds to fully offset the costs of small and medium-sized businesses and nonprofits that provide paid leave for employees to get their COVID-19 vaccination and fully recover from any side effects. The funds may also be used to reimburse employees after the fact for vaccination related loss of wages. Some programs may be coordinated by local nonprofit organizations like United Way and serve as an incentive to increase the overall vaccination rate in the jurisdiction. Also included are programs that provide tax credits related to other types of vaccines and reimbursements for associated lost wages.
