Definition
Programs available at convenient locations such as community centers, child care centers or other similar sites in situations where in-person classroom education is unavailable. Students can gather to set up their own laptop or tablet, connect to wifi to access public school virtual learning, and get in-person support for connectivity and basic academic support. Sites are expected to follow local public health guidelines including daily wellness and temperature checks, frequent cleaning and sanitation and have clear policies when there are signs of illness and a requirement that both students and staff wear masks. Lunch or snacks may also be provided as well as access to recreational, enrichment and mentoring programs.
