Eating establishments that offer the cuisine of Iran which features dishes made with lamb, basmati rice flavored with saffron, mast (yogurt), pomegranate seeds and juice, pistachio nuts, fresh fish, spices and a wide variety of sweets made with honey. Specialties may include torshi liteh (a chopped green herb dip), mast-o-khiar (yogurt combined with herbs and cucumber), kashk badmjan (eggplant in an oil and garlic sauce), borani (spinach or eggplant with yogurt and spices), aash (soup), chelo (a rice dish), aashak (a leek ravioli with yogurt and meat sauce) served with chaka (a yogurt sauce), fesenjan (braised duck with walnut and pomegranate sauce) and a variety of kebabs.
