Eating establishments that offer the cuisine of Russia which features specialties such as borscht (beet soup served with a dollop of sour cream), kharcho (a Georgian-style beef, vegetable and rice soup with a sour tang), cabbage soup, beef Stroganoff, chicken Kiev, blini (pancakes served with salt fish and sour cream or rolled with caviar and sour cream), pirozhki (meat turnovers), khachapuri (cheese pies), golubtsi (stuffed cabbage in sweet and sour tomato sauce), bitki (a ground beef dish served with a vinegar and sour cream sauce), kasha (buckwheat groats), shaslik (grilled meat marinated in spices, oil and vinegar), and a variety of desserts including blinchiki crepes, bulochki (a pastry filled with fresh cheese and raisins or cherries), rogaliki (cookies with raisins and walnuts) and strudel. Beverages may include Russian vodka, kvass which is made from fermented black bread and mead which is made from fermented honey.
