Eating establishments that offer the Byzantine cuisine of Turkey which features specialties such as borek (phyllo pastry filled with meat, cheese or vegetables), couscous (semolina made from wheat grain with a variety of ingredients), shish kebabs, moussaka (a lamb and eggplant casserole), kofte (Turkish meatloaf), lamb kebabs, imam bayildi (eggplant stuffed with tomatoes and onions), midya dolmasi (steamed mussels stuffed with rice and pine nuts) and a variety of sweets including yellow figs and baklava which often are served with Turkish coffee.
