Definition
Programs that specialize in providing therapeutic interventions that are based upon the theories of Alexander Lowen which hold that muscular tension patterns preclude access to healthy aggression and prevent the individual from being appropriately grounded. The task of the therapist is to modify the client's pattern of muscle tension so as to establish appropriate grounding and reverse the habituated repression of the aggressive drive.
