Definition
Programs that specialize in providing the therapeutic method developed by Marion Rosen which is based on the theory that habitual muscle tension creates holding patterns that are associated with unexpressed feelings or repressed aspects of the self. The task of the practitioner is to notice subtle changes in muscle tension and shifts in breath which are indicative of areas of holding and to combine touch and words to help the client recognize what has been suppressed and allow tension to be released.
