Definition
Programs that prepare the bodies of individuals who have died for shipment to the community in which they will be interred. Complete shipment services usually include removing the remains from the hospital or coroner's office, obtaining the doctor's signature on the death certificate, filing the death certificate and deposition permits with the local health department, embalming the remains, and delivering the remains to the airport or other point of departure.
