Historic landmarks are locations that are associated with historic events or the lives of persons of historical importance; represent significant aspects of the cultural, political or economic heritage of the community; embody distinctive characteristics of type, period or method of construction; represent the work of a recognized master; possess high artistic value; or have yielded or are likely to yield information that is important to history or prehistory.
