Definition
Programs that are responsible for clearing marine vegetation from rivers, canals, irrigation or drainage channels and other waterways; for eradicating infestations of non-indigenous plants in situations where the original plant life and the creatures it supports are threatened; and for preventing and/or controlling algal bloom, the excessive and rapid growth of algae and other aquatic plant life when stimulated by high levels of nitrogen, phosphates and other pollutants from nearby agricultural fields.
