Sports Officials Associations

Organizations whose members are referees, umpires, judges or other officials who are responsible for controlling the play of competitions within a particular sport who have affiliated to support professional growth and development, improve officiating standards, provide a forum for making suggestions regarding rules and procedures, and advance the benefits and working conditions of sports officials. Activities may include providing clinics, camps and other educational programs for sports officials; developing programs that educate fans, coaches, players and the media regarding the role of officials in games and tournaments; maintaining a speakers bureau; and issuing awards which recognize significant contributions to the profession.
