Sports Writers Associations

Organizations whose members are broadcast, newspaper or magazine journalists or photographers who report on a particular sport or sports in general at the amateur, high school, college and professional levels who have affiliated to further the interests of their profession. Activities may include acting to improve working press facilities and conditions; coordinating working relationships with leagues, clubs and players' associations; recognizing outstanding achievements in sportsmanship, play, coaching, sports writing and other related fields; promoting the proper governance of particular sports by recognized sanctioning bodies; and providing a unified voice for members.
