Definition
Programs that assist in filing petitions for permits which allow admission, on a temporary basis, of aliens who have been victims of severe forms of trafficking in persons. The individual must be physically present in the United States, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, or at a port of entry; must have complied with a reasonable request for assistance in the prosecution or investigation of trafficking; and, if younger than age 15, must be likely to suffer extreme hardship involving unusual and severe harm if removed. Human trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons by improper means, such as force, abduction, fraud or coercion, for an improper purpose, like forced or coerced labor, servitude, slavery or sexual exploitation.
