Programs that are designed to increase public awareness of the measures that people can take to ensure their own safety or that of children or other family members when joining or serving as a driver in a carpool or vanpool. Ridesharing safety programs often provide safety checklists for participants and include lists of do's and don'ts relating to carpooling etiquette. Safety programs may focus on commuters, children being driven to school, carpool drivers or others that are part of the group.
