Definition
Programs that offer PCR (polymeraise chain reaction) tests which are used to test the viral load of a person who has been diagnosed as HIV positive as a means of measuring disease progression and the effectiveness of medication. PCR tests may also be used with infants with HIV mothers who get false-positive results from antibody tests because of the presence of their mother's antibodies in their blood.
