Programs that are designed to increase public awareness of the measures that people can take to ensure their safety while enjoying the beach. Beach awareness programs provide information about lifeguard services, protection of valuables, and lost or missing children; and warnings about strong currents and/or undertow or animals or other forms of sea life that are in the water or have washed up on the beach.
