Definition
Programs that pay for or provide equipment which forces room air through a special filtering system which allows only molecules of oxygen to pass. It provides a steady flow of oxygen at the rate and concentration prescribed by the physician and delivers the oxygen to the individual through a nasal cannula (tube) or mask. Included are programs that loan oxygen concentrators and those that provide equipment that people can keep.
