Definition
Programs that supply selected oral antibiotics that have been prescribed as part of an individual"™s treatment for a bacterial infection such as strep throat, pneumonia, salmonella or one of the many sexually transmitted diseases caused by microorganisms. Antibiotics may also be prescribed to prevent infections from certain surgeries and dental procedures but are not effective for infections caused by viruses.
