Definition
Programs that are staffed by specialists who perform surgical procedures on the eyes to repair damage resulting from disease or injury, to restore or improve vision or to remediate conditions which affect the eyelids, tear glands, tear ducts and orbit. Also included is cataract surgery which involves the removal of the natural lens of the eye that has developed an opacification and its replacement with an intraocular lens.
