Eating establishments that offer the cuisine of Denmark which features specialties such as hakkebof (minced beef patties with onions and gravy), frikadeller (meat patties with onions, egg, milk and breadcrumbs in butter sauce), pigs knuckles, okesteg (pot roast), loin of pork with spiced cabbage, medisterpolse (Danish sausage), pickled beets, asier (cucumber salad), smorrebord (a selection of tea sandwiches), applecake and a wide selection of pastries. Some restaurants may serve the Danish version of a smorgasbord called a kolde bord.
