Programs that develop, maintain and make available to the public, recreational areas with rocky terrain for people who want to climb. Rock composition may vary from limestone to granite to sandstone permitting a variety of climbing experiences from bouldering to single pitch bolted sport routes to multi-pitch, crack climbing. Amenities may include guides and professional instruction for climbers of all levels of experience. Also included are indoor and outdoor artificial rock climbing and bouldering facilities, often located in urban settings.
