Furnace maintenance checkups include inspection of the thermostat for proper operation, inspection of air filters and changing or cleaning them as necessary; checking electrical components and controls, oiling motors, as needed, inspecting the heat exchanger for possible cracks, checking the air flow and, if diminished, cleaning the evaporator coil, and checking the air fuel mixture, where appropriate.
