Definition
Programs that specialize in adoptions in which the birth mother (or, in some instances both of the birth parents) is involved in choosing the family she wants to adopt her child and which facilitate placement of the child with the selected family. Contact may also be initiated by adopting parents who, with the support of an adoption agency, attempt to locate a pregnant woman considering adoption.
