Programs that specialize in handling adoptions of foreign-born children. International adoptions involve children who were born in a country other than that in which the adoptive parents reside or are citizens, or who are citizens of a country other than where they live. In addition to the normal state and federal laws that apply to all domestic adoptions, international adoptions are impacted by the laws of foreign countries and international treaties, and require approval by the country's immigration authorities.
