Definition
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in puppets and puppet craft, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include workshops, films and lectures on the craft; opportunities to attend and perform puppet shows; and regular meetings at which members meet local puppeteers and enjoy the company of other enthusiasts. Some puppetry clubs may also publish a newsletter or provide access to a library of resources about the craft. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
