Definition
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in tole/decorative painting, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include workshops, seminars, study trips and other educational programs to help members develop their tole/decorative painting skills; and regular meetings at which members share information about current projects, enjoy the company of other enthusiasts and have time to work on their projects. Some tole/decorative painting clubs may also arrange for discounts on materials, sponsor exhibits or sales of decorative art pieces created by members, publish a newsletter or provide access to a library of resources about the art. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
