Definition
Programs that provide organized opportunities for individuals to pursue their interest in woodworking, often through the medium of a club or society which is under the leadership of people who are knowledgeable in the subject. Activities may include lectures by people with woodworking expertise, presentations on some aspect of woodworking; and opportunities for members to display current projects, swap tools, share techniques and participate in club-sponsored woodworking shows and competitions. Some woodworking clubs may also provide space, materials and tools for woodworking activities; publish a newsletter; or provide access to a woodworking library for members. Included are Internet-based virtual clubs, WebRings devoted to the subject and clubs where members meet face-to-face.
