Definition
Programs that provide partial reimbursement to eligible livestock producers who have suffered losses due to natural disasters. Livestock includes beef and dairy cattle, sheep, goats, swine, poultry including egg-producing poultry, equine animals used for food or the production of food and buffalo or beefalo when maintained on the same basis as cattle. The livestock indemnity program is available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
