Rave/Party Event Drug Safety Programs

Services provided at special or recurring gatherings such as festivals, raves and bar/club events to prevent or ameliorate problems resulting from substance use among attendees. The services may be provided by trained volunteers or medical personnel and include distributing preventive information (drug combinations to avoid, for example) and safer drug use equipment (such as fentanyl detection strips, naloxone kits), brief interventions with those whose health or safety appears compromised, and assessment and support for those going through a difficult experience related to psychotropic drugs. Programs may also offer other amenities such as condoms, candy, earplugs and a place to rest.
