Definition
Programs that accept and recycle or otherwise dispose of textiles and other fabrics including clothing, footwear, accessories (such as hats, gloves, belts, purses, backpacks) and household items (bedding, curtains, sleeping bags, stuffed toys). Donations are sorted for re-wear, reuse or recycling into products such as upholstery stuffing or insulation. Services may be operated by charities, municipalities, for-profit private companies or retail stores.
