Long-distance races that consist of three phases, typically swimming, cycling, and long distance running. Typical triathlon competitions at Olympic distances involve a one and one half kilometer swim, a 40 kilometer cycling event and a 10 kilometer run. Ironman competitions extend the distances and involve a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile cycling event and a 26.2-mile run. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
