Definition
Horse races that constitute a combination of flat racing and precision jumping. Participants race over varied distances on circular tracks and jump hurdles (usually fences or hedges) on their way to the finish line. Wagering is generally not permitted and some of the proceeds may go to charity. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
