Definition
Sporting events that, in the winter, involve a combination of skiing and shooting, and in the summer, a combination of running and shooting. Participants ski or run between targets, stop and shoot, and then go on to the next target. The United States Biathlon Association (USBA) is the governing body for the sport. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings.
