Definition
Educational institutions that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize intercollegiate rowing competitions; provide information about competition schedules; and/or maintain information about current standings. Races may be structured for single sculls (one person using two oars), double sculls (two people using two oars each), pairs (two people, each using a single oar), fours (four people each using a single oar), and eights (eight people each using a single oar), and the larger groups may use a coxswain to steer.
