Definition
Programs that help organizations interpret the standards established for their field, plan for participation in an accreditation process and prepare and submit an application for accreditation. The program may help organizations conduct a self-evaluation to determine readiness to begin the process; establish an accreditation committee with goals, timelines and role assignments; set up, document and integrate into their operations policies, procedures, reporting methods and practices required to meet the standards; develop manuals and other written program materials that may be missing; complete and submit the application and required substantiating documentation; prepare for a site visit; and/or submit an appeal, when there are grounds, if their application is unsuccessful.
