Definition
Basketball games that feature paid professional players who are affiliated with teams that are members of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Women's Basketball Association (WNBA) or other professional leagues. The annual championships in professional basketball are the NBA Championship and the WNBA Championship, both of which are played between the champions of the NBA and WNBA Eastern and Western Conferences. Included are organizations that sponsor, organize, hold, promote, sell tickets to and publicize the events; provide information about game schedules; and/or maintain information about player statistics and team standings.
