Type 2 Diabetes

A form of diabetes that generally develops in middle age or later and is characterized by inadequate use of insulin (whose levels are generally normal) rather than insufficient amounts of insulin or lack of insulin altogether. The onset of Type 2 diabetes is generally gradual, is often seen in patients who are overweight and may, in some cases, be hereditary.
