Definition
A disorder that is characterized by the interdependent use two or more different types of drugs, one of which is used to counteract the adverse effects of the other, or which are used in combination to intensify the overall effect. Typical combinations include barbiturates and amphetamines, barbiturates and tranquilizers and barbiturates and heroin.
