Definition
Programs that specialize in providing therapeutic interventions that are based on the principles articulated by William Glasser that individuals are responsible for what they do. The therapist's task is to establish sufficient rapport so that clients gain the strength to accept this responsibility. The therapist assists clients to evaluate what they do and, if current behavior is unsatisfactory, helps them to develop more responsible behaviors, i.e., behaviors that satisfy their needs but which do not prevent others from satisfying their own.
