Definition
Licensed clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists and psychiatrists who, either individually or in partnership with other therapists, offer individual, group, conjoint and family counseling, therapy groups or other mental health services on a private practice basis, i.e., in a setting in which the practice and the therapist(s) are independent of external policy control other than the ethics of the professional and state licensing laws.
