To qualify for phase I, a parent must have custody of one child under age 12. The parent must also have been substance abuse-free for a minimum of six months prior to entering the program and have a form of income (child support, state assistance, SSI, employment, etc.).

Life Start Village is a self-sufficiency program that provides safe housing, and supportive services for single-parent families recovering from homelessness, domestic violence, or drug abuse. It offers a supportive environment for families to heal from past trauma, rebuild relationships, and improve their economic situations. Phase I is a dorm-like setting. Upon completing phase I, families have the chance to advance to more independent living environments.
