A personality disorder that is characterized by detachment from social relationships and interactions; avoidance of close relationships; lack of warm, tender feelings for others and apparent indifference to praise, criticism and the feelings of others. Individuals who have this disorder appear reserved, withdrawn and seclusive; usually pursue solitary interests or hobbies; and may be viewed as eccentric.
