Definition
Programs that provide opportunities for university and college faculty members and/or administrators, deans and department heads in the U.S. to teach or work in an educational institution abroad in exchange for their counterparts being able to teach or work at their home institution. Exchanges may be simultaneous with each person assuming the responsibilities or their counterpart for the duration of the exchange, or non-simultaneous; and may be of varying lengths.
