Definition
The office of the individual who has been elected to serve as the state's chief elections and corporations officer with responsibility for overseeing elections, filing and verifying initiatives and referendums, registering and licensing private corporations, overseeing the filing and disclosure of campaign and lobbyist financial information, commissioning notaries public, collecting and preserving historical records, managing the public archives, regulating the use of the state seal and/or handling other designated special duties.
