Definition
Programs that teach dogs, cats, horses and other animals to respond with aversion to the sound, smell and visual stimulus of a rattlesnake to avoid being bitten by one. The animals are equipped with an electronic collar which can deliver an adverse stimulus if they show any interest in the rattlesnakes to which they are exposed. Rattlesnakes used in the training are generally muzzled or otherwise made safe. By the end of the training session, the animals learn avoid the snake, a lesson that has been proven to have a lasting effect.
