Definition
People who have been seriously injured and/or traumatized as the result of an active shooter incident in which one or more individuals have killed or attempted to kill people in a highly populated, confined area such as a school, place of worship or other public place (e.g., shopping mall, theater), in most cases using firearms and selecting their victims at random.
