Cinematographers

Individuals who are responsible for the visual effect of film and video productions. They compose film shots which reflect the mood the director wishes to create and transform the screenwriter's and director's concepts into real visual images. Cinematographers do not physically operate the camera (a task handled by camera operators). Rather they plan and coordinate the actual filming and ensure that the appropriate mood, atmosphere and visual style are captured in each and every shot; and that these qualities are sustained throughout the entire film.
