School Phobia

A persistent condition primarily experienced by children which is characterized by excessive anxiety about and/or refusal to go to school. The condition may stem from factors like anxiety about being separated from significant others who are at home, an irrational fear of school, or feeling powerful and in control at home but not elsewhere. The child and family may require counseling to resolve the problem.
